Sand Casting for Non Ferrous Castings
Aluminum Sand casting is traditional casting process in China, it is major inventions of ancient China, it is important as China's four great inventions. The sand cast process originated in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, about 1600 years ago.
Our aluminum foundry is set up in 1995 year. We start from green sand casting process, and on 2000, we built our resin sand casting line. Until now we have five production lines for large aluminum green sand casting jobs up to 500kg/piece and 30 platforms for smaller aluminum alloy castings, and also one production line for resin sand casting.  We are leading in China foundries in Zhejiang province. There is green sand casting process for sand casting manufacturer, but we have two process.
We also make molds in our foundry and we have a good ability in sand casting mold design, this is our advantage in Chinese sand casting factories. If you choose to cooperation with us, I’m sure we will be a good sand casting supplier for you and your company.
Our cast aluminum products are exported America, Europe and Asia market, including auto components, furniture components, lighting components, pump valve components, architectural components and so on.
Sand casting offers the simplest medium for production of non ferrous castings, by pouring molten zinc, aluminum or copper into a sand mould.
When is Sand Casting used?
The sand casting process is chosen for the production of:
• Small numbers of castings
• a complex shaped casting requiring intricate cores
• a large non ferrous casting
Advantages of sand casting include:
• low tooling costs
• largest casting sizes achievable
• very low gas porosity is possible
• general versatility of the process is good
Limitations include:
• Low casting rate
• 3-5mm minimum wall thickness
• poor linear tolerance (e.g. 4mm/m)
• rough surface finish
• coarser grain size than gravity die casting
Sand Casting
Sand casting offers simple medium for production and is chosen for the production of, small numbers of castings for complex shaped casting requiring intricate cores and large non ferrous castings.
Sand castings are suitable in all Aluminum, Zinc, and Copper Alloys.
Sand casting can be used for small and large production runs and is the cheapest casting process for small production runs.
The huge advantage of sand casting is the production of complex sand castings however the surface finish and tolerances of the finished casting are poor. Production times can also be a lot longer than other casting processes such as gravity die casting and high pressure die casting.
